1. Leave your bandage on until you get home. 2. Take the bandage off when you can clean it well with soap. DO NOT re-bandage the tattoo after you remove this one. 3. The first time you clean your tattoo is the most important. Wash the tattoo with warm water and antibacterial soap using the palm of your hand. 4. Rinse well with water and pat dry with a clean, dry towel. 5. For the first 3-4 days put a small amount of a scent-free lotion like Lubriderm on your tattoo after you wash it. MAKE SURE IT IS SCENT -FREE IF YOU DON'T USE LUBRIDERM! DO NOT USE ANY KIND OF PATROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS!! If you put too much on, pat excess with a clean towel. 6. REMEMBER, nothin you put on your tattoo will make it heal faster. You don't want your tatoo to dry out, but you don't want it too moist either. 7.Try not to get your tattoo wet for too long. No rivers or lakes. Infections can come easy with dirty water. Do not submerge in bathwater, hot tubs or swimming pools until the tattoo is healed (usually two weeks). When you are in the shower, try not to stay too long. When you get out, pat your tattoo dry. It is not uncommon for your tattoo to lightly scab. If it does, don't pick at it! Your scab will fall off when your tattoo is healed. If you pick at it, ink may pull out of your tattoo and leave a scar. 8. DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR FRIENDS!!! If you have any questions or concerns about the healing of your tattoo, don't hesitate to call your tattoo artist at (803)750-2485 HAPPY HEALING!!! |
